Print Competition That Inspires
The Icon International Photography Awards celebrates iconic photography, focusing on inspiration, education, integrity, and the power of print to elevate the photography industry.
The Icon Awards continues the 30+ year legacy of the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) annual photography competition. When WPPI discontinued its competition in 2023, Jerry and Melissa Ghionis launched the Icon Awards to carry on this tradition.
Five judges score each entry anonymously, with final scores determining eligibility for silver, gold, and platinum awards, plus digital badges and certificates. Your top four entries count toward your Icon Honors of Excellence designation.

The print judging will be an in-person event at the WPPI convention and we will also broadcast it live online on February 28th and March 1st, 2027.
Awarded prints will be displayed in a gallery on the WPPI tradeshow floor on March 2-4, 2027.
A selection of images that score 79 or below in the online competition will be anonymously critiqued during WPPI and be made available after the show.
Trophies will be given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and Grand Award winners and presented at the Icon Awards Ceremony at the Rio Hotel on March 2nd, 2027. We will also broadcast the Awards Night live online.
